Forensic Engineering

Forensic engineering is the ‘investigation of failures – ranging from serviceability to catastrophic….it therefore includes the investigation of materials, products, structures or components that fail….’ (Wikipedia). Grounded Logic performs forensic evaluations of damages to earthen and manmade structures caused by earth movement. Earth movements may be due to slope failures, retaining wall failures, coal mine subsidence, limestone mine subsidence, sinkhole formation,  high plasticity clay, and more.

Damage to the sun porch and to the yard are due to slope failure.  The site is located in a Hazelwood, Missouri subdivision.
